Honeyed Apple Salad

Save yourself the expense of the half-and-half in this apple salad recipe by substituting 1/4 cup sour cream and 1/4 cup milk instead. Reduce the lemon juice to 1 tablespoon since the sour cream provides sufficient tang.
Ingredients
3/4 cup half-and-half
3 Tbsp lemon juice
1 Tbsp honey
1 tsp cinnamon
4 tart apples
Directions

Combine half-and-half, lemon juice, honey and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon in a medium bowl. Beat with a fork until smooth.

Add apples to bowl. Stir gently to coat with dressing.

Sprinkle with remaining cinnamon just before serving.

Dress this salad up for a party. Spoon salad onto a tray lined with lettuce leaves. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon poppy seeds or chopped candied apple peel just before serving.

Apple Salad recipe tip: To keep the apples from turning brown, place them in a bowl with 1 quart ice water and 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice. Let stand until ready to use, then drain.
