Cheddar Pasta Casserole

Mostaccioli, or little mustaches, is one of the many varieties of tubular pasta. Look for other tube shaped pasta such as, ziti, penne or even elbow macaroni. Macaroni is likely to be on sale, saving you a little money on this Cheddar Pasta Casserole.

Ingredients

1 1/2 lb ground beef

16 oz ziti or penne

1 (10-ounce) can Cheddar cheese soup

1 (30-ounce) jar spaghetti sauce

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1 tsp pepper

3 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Grease a large baking dish. Cook beef in a large skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until browned and crumbly, about 10 minutes. Drain. Place beef in a large bowl.

  2. Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package directions. Drain well. Add to beef; stir.

  3. Add soup, spaghetti sauce, Italian seasoning, pepper and 2 cups mozzarella to bowl; mix well. Spoon into prepared baking dish.

  4. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella over casserole. Bake until hot and bubbly, about 25 minutes.

Cheddar Pasta Casserole tip: Use the microwave to save time for this pasta casserole. Prepare recipe through step 3. Microwave the casserole on HIGH for 7 minutes, stirring after 4 minutes. Top with the reserved mozzarella and microwave cheese until melted.
