Pork Sausage Hamburgers

Servings: 6

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 10 minutes

Partner: chopped salad

You can save money by omitting the liquid smoke flavoring and cooking these Pork Sausage Hamburgers over charcoal to create a natural smoke flavoring. Add a handful of water-soaked wood chips for a stronger smoky flavor.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 lb bulk pork sausage

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

1 Tbsp liquid smoke flavoring

1/2 tsp garlic powder

2 loaves of French bread

Lettuce leaves

Sliced red onion

Sliced tomatoes

Directions

  1. Preheat grill or broiler. Combine beef, sausage, onion, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke and garlic powder in a large bowl; mix well.

  2. Shape the mixture into oval patties. Place on a platter.

  3. Grill patties over medium-hot coals, turning once, until cooked through, about 10 minutes.

  4. Serve burgers on French bread with lettuce, onion and tomatoes. Serve with ketchup.

Pork Sausage Hamburgers tip: These patties freeze well for up to 1 month. Prepare extra patties and wrap them individually in plastic wrap before freezing.
