Delicious strip steak is one of the costliest cuts of beef but priced out of budget range for many people. Try using lower priced cuts such as skirt steak or sirloin for this Beef Strips with Mushrooms.

Ingredients

2 lb boneless strip steak

1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce

1 Tbsp lemon juice

1 tsp hot pepper sauce

1 tsp salt

1 tsp pepper

1/2 tsp rosemary

1 tsp garlic powder

1 1/2 sticks butter or margarine, melted, divided

8 oz mushrooms

1 tsp paprika

Directions

  1. Slice beef into 1/4-inch-thick strips. Combine beef, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, hot pepper sauce, salt, pepper, rosemary and garlic powder in a resealable plastic bag. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.

  2. Meanwhile, heat 4 tablespoons butter in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms. Cook, stirring occasionally, until mushrooms are browned.

  3. Preheat broiler. Line broiler pan with aluminum foil. Pour 2 tablespoons butter on foil; spread to coat foil. Arrange beef strips on foil without overlapping.

  4. Brush beef with part of remaining butter. Sprinkle with paprika. Broil 6 inches from heat, turning once, for 8 minutes. Repeat with remaining beef. Mound beef and mushrooms on a platter.

Beef Strips with Mushrooms tip: Save both cooking and cleanup time by searing the beef strips in a cast-iron grill pan on the stove top.
