Hawaiian Beef Burgers
You can save money and a few calories, too, by eliminating the bacon slices used to wrap each patty. The Hawaiian Beef Burgers will still taste great and only your wallet will know the difference.
1 1/2 lb ground chuck
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 (13-ounce) can pineapple tidbits, drained
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 Tbsp white vinegar
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 Tbsp ketchup
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
6 slices bacon
Combine beef, salt and pepper in a large bowl; mix well. Shape into 6 patties.
Press 5 or 6 pineapple tidbits into each patty. Place patties in a glass baking dish.
Combine garlic, soy sauce, vinegar, oil, ketchup and pepper flakes in a small bowl. Pour over patties. Refrigerate, covered, until ready to cook, at least 15 minutes.
Preheat grill. Drain patties. Wrap each with a slice of bacon. Secure with a wooden pick. Grill patties for 8 minutes on each side.
Hawaiian Beef Burgers tip: If you don't have a grill, or want to cook these burgers more quickly, use your microwave. Arrange them on a microwave-safe platter. Microwave on HIGH for 10 minutes, turning burgers over once.
