If you will need to purchase the long list of seasonings listed for this Cajun-Spiced Pork Roast recipe, you can save money by purchasing a commercial brand of Cajun seasoning. Be sure that the dominant ingredient is not salt.

Ingredients

1 tsp thyme

2 tsp paprika

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp cumin

1/2 tsp nutmeg

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

1/4 tsp pepper

2 lb boneless pork roast

1 Tbsp vegetable oil

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine thyme, paprika, oregano, garlic powder, cumin, nutmeg, salt, cayenne and pepper in a small bowl.

  2. Rub pork roast with vegetable oil. Rub seasoning mix into roast.

  3. Place roast in a shallow roasting pan. Roast to an internal temperature of 155 F on a meat thermometer, about 1 hour, or about 30 minutes per pound.

  4. Let pork roast stand in pan for 10 minutes before slicing.

Cajun-Spiced Pork Roast tip: If you're in a hurry, you can use this Cajun rub on pork chops, then broil them.
